| From Dallas, Texas, she is a pastel portraitist whose background is in medical illustration.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Syracuse University in New York and an M.A. degree in art as applied to medicine from the John Hopkins University School of Medicine.
She has studied pastel painting with Kay Polk, Daniel Greene, Bob Gerbracht and Denny Duran. She does most of her painting in the evenings relying on artificial light and shadow, and she prefers to paint her portraits from live subjects rather than photographs. |
