The 7th of 12 siblings, Peter Searcy was born in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1882. Searcy's family was renowned for their contributions to medicine with several members, including five of his brothers as well as his father and grandfather, dedicating their lives to the communities as doctors of medicine.
Choosing to dedicate his life to art rather than the family profession, Searcy was referred by his siblings as "the black sheep of the family." He studied at the University of Alab (showing 500 of 1699 characters). |
