| | Born in Holland in 1899. By the 1930s Smoor had settled in San Diego, CA and established a china and artifacts store. In his leisure he painted and made many trips to Mexico to paint and study. During 1937-38 he was president of the San Diego Fine Arts Society. He was a resident of San Diego at the time of his death in Sacramento on Sept. 10, 1980. | Source:
