San Francisco painter Randall Sexton was raised on the East Coast and studied abstract art at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. After moving to the San Francisco Bay area upon graduation, he continued to work in that style completing large-scale abstract works and color-field paintings.
In 1988, he discovered the work of Michael Lynch. Sexton was drawn to Lynch's painterly, loose and gestural paintings of the real world. In 1990 Randall Sexton studied with Lynch during a workshop a (showing 500 of 1096 characters). |
