Biography from AskART:
A painter, educator and sculptor, Raphael Sabatini was born November 26, 1898 in Melrose Park, Pennsylvania and spent much time in his youth in France. He was a professor of Painting and Sculpture at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University from 1936 to 1966, and was President of the Philadelphia Art Alliance in Philadelphia. In the early 1950's he had a local weekday television show called "Art is Easy". He was the author of a book, "Sculpture Processes", that was published in 1957. His wife was Theresa Knoell.

Sabatini studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and with Arthur Carles, Fernand Leger, Antoine Bourdelle and Constantin Brancusi. He also had a Cresson Traveling Scholarship.

Exhibition venues included the Pennsylvania Academy and the Society of Independent Artists.
