| | Born in California on Dec. 6, 1892. In 1910 Schumann settled in Los Angeles and began his career in the art department of the Examiner. He studied at the San Francisco Institute of Art in 1912-13. After serving in WWI, he returned to Los Angeles and was soon active in the local art scene. He died there on Aug. 6, 1960.
