Richard Schlecht discovered his love for art early in life, and has been fervently following his passion, particularly in watercolor, ever since. His work took a major leap in the 1980s when he took the first of many extended visits to Italy to paint the villas and countryside landscapes of Tuscany and Umbria. He is able to create beautiful scenes using a range of subtle highlights to deep shadows not often found in most watercolor artists oeuvre.
