| | Born in El Paso, TX on Feb. 13, 1919. Stapleton moved to Santa Monica with his family about 1921. He studied art with Sueo Serisawa and at Cahn Art School in Hollywood. For 34 years he worked as a pipeline engineer in southern California while painting in his leisure. By the 1950s his art production had diminished. Stapleton died in Pacific Palisades, CA on March 16, 1991. Exh: Los Angeles Co. Fair, c.1940; Calif. WC Society, 1942. | Source:
