Robert Swaim (1848-1918):

Born in Indiana, Robert Swaim was teaching painting in Logansport, Indiana by 1880.  By 1893 he was in Helena, Montana.  The Chicago World Book Company in 1893 published a book on the State exhibitions at The World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago and on page 58 in the Montana section it states:  "Perhaps the most popular artist in this State is Mr. Robert Swaim, of Helena, but the one deserving special notice is Mr. C. Russell, generally known (showing 500 of 871 characters).
