| | Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 14, 1904. Steinlauf was active in southern California during the 1930s. For many years he lived in Mexico and produced paintings of social realism á la Rivera. After returning to California in 1941, he settled in San Diego and lived there until his demise on April 29, 1989. Exh: Artists of LA, LACMA, 1948; Calif.
