| Serai Sherman, painter, sculptor, ceramist and printmaker, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1922. She has won many prizes, medals and awards in the United States and abroad. They include, in 1945, the Pepsi Cola; in 1952-1954, a Fulbright fellowship to Italy; 1964, an award in painting, and 1970, the Childe Hassam Prize, both from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, New York City; 1976, the Proctor Prize from the National Academy of Design, New York City; and a varie (showing 500 of 2407 characters). |
