The following is from Alexandra Beatty
My stepfather, the late Dr. Carl Uhr, knew Mr. Scherbakoff during the 1950's, when they both lived in San Francisco. I inherited several of Mr. Scherbakoff's paintings when my stepfather passed away in 1999, and I was told by my stepfather that these landscape paintings were of Golden Gate Park. There is another painting of a little Russian babuska doll set amid beads and wooden bowls upon a richly printed cloth, with an ominous dark sky in the dista (showing 500 of 1633 characters). |
