| Theodore Freeland Simms was born in Arvada, Colorado on January 14, 1912. Simms was a pupil of Clayton M. Baldwin, Dan Lutz, and Glen Lukens.
While a resident of Los Angeles in the late 1930s, he was active in the local art scene while teaching architectural design at University of Southern California.
By 1956 he was working in Seattle, Washington; he died there in 2002.
Exhibited: Denver Museum, 1934, 1937; California Watercolor Society, 1938-39.
Works held: University of Southern California.
