| | Born in Arvada, CO on Jan. 14, 1912. Simms was a pupil of Clayton M. Baldwin, Dan Lutz, and Glen Lukens. While a resident of Los Angeles in the late 1930s, he was active in the local art scene while teaching architectural design at USC. By 1956 he was working in Seattle, WA.
