| Thomas Cattlett Skinner was born in Kutawa, Kentucky on December 25, 1889. Skinner was in Waynesville, NC in 1900. While living in Fresno in 1910-11, Skinner studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and continued at the Art Students League and National Academy of Design in New York City. By 1916 he was living in Los Angeles. By the 1940s he had a studio in Richmond, Virginia and became known for his maritime paintings. He died in Newport News, Virginia on March 10 (showing 500 of 2126 characters). |
