| As an illustrator, William Sheppard did the Rambler Club Series of 15 books, and he was author of a four-book series, Don Hale. He was also a fine-art painter, and writer and was a member of the American Artists Professional League*. He lived primarily in Philadelphia where he was a student of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts*, but also studied in Paris as a student at the Academie Julian* with Gustave Bouguereau and the Ecole Des Beaux Arts* with Jean-Leon Gerome (showing 500 of 4585 characters). |
