| | Born in Switzerland on Nov. 22, 1890. Stanback studied art in Switzerland and served in WWI. After immigrating to the U.S., he worked in Chicago for several years. In 1931 he settled in Los Angeles where he worked as a scenic artist in the movie industry for 20th Century, RKO, and Paramount. In his leisure he painted landscapes and views of the missions. Stanback died in Los Angeles on June 10, 1965.
