|  William Suhr was born in Kreutzberg, Germany on March 31, 1896. Suhr studied at the Royal Academy in Berlin. He worked in Detroit at the art institute in 1927-30, at the De Young Museum (San Francisco) in 1934-35, and Metropolitan Museum in 1947. He died in Mount Kisco, NY in January 1984.
