This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Cincinnati, OH on March 2, 1864. Schevill studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under Frank Duveneck and continued with L÷efftz, Lindenschmitt, and Gysis in Munich. By 1940 his home was Los Angeles while active in NYC and Boston. Member: Salmagundi Club. Exh: Louisiana Purchase Expo (St Louis), 1904 (bronze medal). In: War Dept (Washington, DC); Herron Museum (Indianapolis).
