This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Cincinnati, OH on March 2, 1864. Schevill studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under Frank Duveneck and continued with Löefftz, Lindenschmitt, and Gysis in Munich. By 1940 his home was Los Angeles while active in NYC and Boston. Member: Salmagundi Club. Exh: Louisiana Purchase Expo (St Louis), 1904 (bronze medal). In: War Dept (Washington, DC); Herron Museum (Indianapolis).
