I paint in a realistic style trying to capture scenes all around me. I love to paint sailing vessels at sea, seascapes and bright color flower paintings. My flower paintings are painted directly from still lifes I set up. My marine paintings are developed from research and photographs. I use this information as a referance while I paint.
My style is a little impressionistic, not photographic. I like to capture the sense of the subject or the feeling I get at the moment.
I am very interested in recreating California's maritime history. My favorite vessels are Top Sail Schooners.
I paint using oils and use fine linen canvas.
