Dr. Adel Edward Horan, who lives and paints in Scottsdale, Arizona, is an accomplished artist renowned worldwide. He uses a realistic style to paint what he sees in life as worthy. His images on canvas illustrate his belief. His artwork and recreations transport us to the scene to evoke lingering subtlely beneath that, “No picture can Equal the Beauty of the Imagination.” Nature's moods and his perfect balance of colors and light create breathtaking views of deserts, mountains, plains and sea.
Dr. Horan skillfully depicts the intricacies of human behavior in everyday life. His paintings capture the artist's unique understanding of people, their flaws, their aspirations and their dreams as well as the realism of their daily existence. He shows the innocence of the child, the wisdom of the elder and he runs the gamut of human emotions, and his discernment and empathy pour onto the canvas. He invites us to share his feelings of respect to the individual. The wide variety of his subjects is derived from the diverse cultures and societies in which he has lived.
He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees of Fine Arts and History of Arts. His second Bachelors and Masters in Psychology/Counseling and finally his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and his Doctorate in Arts and Humanities. He is listed in Who's Who in the United States and other additions in the East, in the West, in Arizona and in the World every year from 1981 to 2002. He is a member of many art and professional organizations and institutes. He has received numerous citations of recognition and appreciation from leaders of governments, industry and education.
In addition to being a Professor of Arts and Humanities and Professor of Clinical Psychology, Dr. Horan is a painter, restorer, designer, illustrator, cartoonist & iconographer. He is represented in galleries, museums, churches, temples and official and private collections all over the world. He has held many one-man art exhibitions and group shows in Canada, Mexico, South America, England, France, Germany, Holland, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, the United States and some countries in the Middle East. He is represented with more than 10,000 pieces of artwork all over the world.
