| Frederick Tellander was born in Paxton, Illinois in 1878. He studied in Rome and Paris. Tellander was an accomplished artist who divided his time between Chicago and Paris. He was a member of the Chicago Painters and Sculptors and the Chicago Galleries Association. He won numerous prizes including one from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1923 and 1927, the Fine Arts Building Purchase Prize in 1927, the gold medal from the Chicago Painters and Sculptors in 1926, and the Chicago Galler (showing 500 of 1058 characters). |
