Born in Rough Rock, Arizona, Andy Tsinnajinnie was an Indian artist and illustrator who maintained a studio in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was a member of the Navajo Salt River Bend Indian tribe, and the translation of his last name, which has been spelled in several ways, is "Little Grey." He studied art at the Fort Apache School in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and graduated in 1936.
He painted large murals for the WPA in Arizona and New Mexico including ones for Indian Schools. He served i (showing 500 of 1226 characters). |
