Anna Roberta Brown Balfour (Thudichum) was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on July 30, 1871. A painter, she is known for her landscape works of Northern California with emphasis on Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula. She painted in watercolors and oils.
Balfour Thudichum studied widely and was a pupil of Beatrice Irwin in London, England; Hayward in Paris, France; and R. B. Brown in Nova Scotia. By the early 1920's she was a resident of San Francisco, California. After moving to Carmel, Cali (showing 500 of 1551 characters). |
