| | Using a technique of layering oil enamel on plywood panels, she painstakenly builds up over 70 layers of paint to achieve a luminous effect. Unique to her is a slight irregularity of the form of the panels. She sands down the edges, creating a sloping frame around the work, which gives an uneven, homemade appearance. In fall, 1998, she had a special exhibition of her work in Los Angeles at the Kiyo Higashi Gallery. |
