| | Born in Illinois on June 9, 1899. Tamplin moved to Santa Barbara in the early 1920s. A banker, he painted in his leisure. His mural of River Jordan is in the First Baptist Church of Santa Barbara. He died in Glendale, CA on Dec. 6, 1953.
