| | Born in Germany on Dec. 25, 1842. Thomas studied art under his father at the Düsseldorf Academy and in Brussels and Rome. By the turn of the century, he was active in New York. He moved to California in 1915 for the Panama California Int'l Expo in San Diego where his work was awarded a silver medal. Opting to remain, he was active in southern California until his death in Baldwin Park on June 11, 1924. Exh: NAD, 1898; Calif.
