David Tobey was born in New York in 1954 at Beth Isreal. He has two
studios; one is in his home and the other, where he sculpts, is an iron
worker's shop.
He is an action painter and sculptor. He also
works in ceramics and does drawings. He works with mixed medias, oil,
acylic, steel, etc. He is the son of the famous illustrator, Alton
Tobey, and concert pianist Roslyn Tobey.
He has his Master's
Degree in studio art and a degree from Julliard School of Music. Music
