| | Born in Toledo, OH in Jan. 11, 1907. Tolerton settled in San Francisco in 1915 during the PPIE. Raised in an artistic milieu, his father had an art gallery on Sutter Street. He studied at Stanford University (1926-28) and the CSFA where he later taught. He died at his home in Mill Valley, CA on June 20, 2000. Exh: Calif.
