Edgar Taylor, a landscape and figure painter, was born in Brooklyn New York in 1862. As a young man Edgar showed an interest in art, and while in his teens, he attended The Art Students League in New York City. The school curriculum placed an emphasis life drawing and portraiture, and he was required to draw from plaster casts. Taylor also studied at the National Academy of Design.
Among his mentors were James Carol Beckworth (1852-1917) and Thomas C Eakins (1844-1916). The greatest infl (showing 500 of 1978 characters). |
