Born in Fresno, California, Elizabeth Tolley is a plein-air landscape
painter living in San Luis Obispo. She attended Polytechnic State
University in San Luis Obispo, majoring in agricultural journalism, but
left college without a degree and married. The couple moved to a
ranch in the interior of the state, and she began sketching and
painting in her spare time.
She divorced, and with a young daughter moved back to San Luis Obispo
