| Emilie Touraine, daughter of jeweler Pierre Jacque Touraine, was born September 1, 1939, in New York, New York, and raised, from 1943, in Pasadena, Altadena, and Alhambra, California. In 1960, she moved with her family to Scottsdale, Arizona, working there as an artist for twenty years. For varying periods during this time, she visited the Pacific Northwest, during 1972-1977; Nebraska, in the 1970s; and lived, for varying periods with the traditional Hopi of northern Arizona in the late 1970s to (showing 500 of 2827 characters). |
