Biography for Eugene Kinsey Towne submitted by Gary Stanley / ArtSanDiego: Eugene Kinsey Towne was born in San Francisco, California on December 4, 1907. He studied with Eliot O'Hara, George Post, Tom Elliott, and Jade Fon. In addition to his watercolor works, he created illustrations for both the Carnegie and Smithsonian Institutes.
A pioneer in "California Style" watercolor works, Towne exhibited widely in the San Francisco and Monterey Peninsula areas. He exhibited at the De Yo (showing 500 of 1374 characters). |
