Biography from AskART:
| Eugene Torrey was an active artist in Paris, France in 1886 before settling in Los Angeles, California where he had a studio in the California Bank Building and was active to the mid 1920s.
During the 1890s, he painted thirty-five views of California missions, and then in the early 1900s focused on scenes of Europe. By 1910, he was doing military subjects.
