| An early Texas artist, Fannie Thurston was born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi and in 1897 moved to El Paso where she was active as a painter until her death in 1956.
She was a student of her mother-in-law, Emma Thurston, as well as Dey de Ribcowsky and Xavier Gonzalez. Her work can be found at the Capitol building in Austin, Texas. |
