| Frances D. Hoar was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1898. Hoar studied at the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art. After her marriage to artist Frederick Trucksess in 1927, she settled in Boulder where she taught at the University of Colorado. She died in Paradise, CA on February 13, 1985. She is best known for her western landscapes, often with ghost towns and mining scenes.
Exhibited: Denver Museum, 1928-34 (prizes); Prospectors, 1931-39.
Works held: Denver Art Museum; University of Colorado.
