| Born in Iowa on May 22, 1877. True moved to California in 1906. For 45 years he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad while sketching and painting in his leisure. During this period he painted in the western states of the Pacific Coast, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona. Upon retirement in 1943, he worked in Berkeley for Cutter Laboratories for one year. While there, he studied with Charles Horton and then moved to Santa Cruz where he continued his art training with Claude Buck. During his (showing 500 of 819 characters). |
