| Gemma Traversi was born in Switzerland on May 26, 1902. She came
to California with her parents in 1903, and settled in Petaluma.
At age 18 she moved to San Francisco and entered the California School
of Fine Art. Her specialty was ceramic statues of St Francis of Assisi
and other religious figures.
Unmarried, she died in San Francisco on Sept. 9, 1968.
