This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following was written and submitted by Nick Caputo, November 2004.

George Tuska studied art at the National Academy of Design. He began working on a variety of strips for comic books in the late 1930s at the Eisner and Eiger studio. In the 1940s Tuska drew stories for Fawcett Publications (Captain Marvel). Tuska later worked for Lev Gleason on "Crime Does Not Pay", a popular series that featured some of Tuska's best work. Tuska also worked on Newspaper strips, including Scorchy Smith and Buck Rogers.

In the 1960s Tuska began a long association with Stan Lee and Marvel Comics on their Super-Hero line, including Iron-Man, Captain America, Sub-Mariner and Luke Cage. Tuska worked for many other companies over the years, including DC (Bat-Man, Superman), Gold Key (Man from UNCLE) and Tower Comics (Thunder Agents).

Tuska is a pioneer comics artist - a strong storyteller who has worked in every genre. He has a strong cinematic eye and continues to do commision work into his 80's.

Source note from Nick Caputo
I am "a comic book fan/historian who has researched many of these artists and have had articles published in various trade magazines (Comic Book Marketplace, Comic Book Artist, Alter Ego)."
