The daughter of Louis Merrill and Eva Neudeck Merrill, George-Ann Tognoni was raised on an Iowa farm near Fort Dodge. She greaduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1938, and then went to Minneapolis where she studied at the Pepin Academy of Fashion. She worked as a dress designer in that city and in Los Angeles.
During World War II, Tognoni returned to Iowa to help her parents on the farm, and spent several winters studying sculpture at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerqu (showing 500 of 2926 characters). |
