The brother of artist Frances (Franz) Gottfried, Titus Gottfried emigrated to New
York City from Bavaria, Germany in July of 1855. He was then 28 years of
age, and his brother was 23.
In 1861, Titus was married to Sarah Bandmann in New York, and the
couple lived in the city.
Titus and his wife had five sons,
Frank, Hugo, Arthur, Oscar and Adolph.
He died at age 50 on January 20, 1877. At that time his residence was 345 East 77th Street.(showing 500 of 719 characters). |
