Gustavo Torres is a sculptor of the human form. His bronze works are simple almost abstract figures which have a rough texture. His goal is to capture the spirit of the form with the least material as possible.
He began his education at the young age of 12 when he worked as an apprentice to artist Luis Larios in his hometown of Guadalajara in Mexico. Larios, who worked in bronze, plaster, stone and wood gave him an excellent education. Torres also credits the time he spent working in a fo (showing 500 of 856 characters). |
