| | Born in Boston, MA in 1822. Teschemacher arrived in San Francisco about 1846 as a ship's clerk and remained in California. He was mayor of San Francisco in the 1860s and a real estate agent through 1882. He was the artist for a lithograph entitled Life In California, published in 1846 by the Endicott Company. He died in Terretet, Switzerland on Nov. 26, 1904. | Source:
