A Russian immigrant married to artist Joshua Tolford, Irina Tolford
lived in Boston and Rockport, Massachustetts where she and her husband
were painters and ran the Home Industries shop, which sold Folly Cove
Designs, related to the Arts and Crafts Movement, beginning 1943.
These designs grew out of a design course taught beginning 1938 by
Virginia Lee Demetrios, who lived in Folly Cove, the northerly part of
Lanesville in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
