| | Born in Chicago, IL on Aug. 2, 1906. Torrance studied at the ASL in NYC under George Bridgman. In 1930 he and his brother, William, moved to northern California, settling in the small town of Fairfax in Marin County. He continued his art training at the CSFA and then was art director of the Gerth-Knollin Advertising Agency. He was killed in an auto accident in Novato, CA on Sept. 29, 1941.
