Born in London, Janet Treby is a painter who does abstraction that
includes figurative subjects, primarily females, and mostly in
oil. She says her best work "is done in a sort of stream of
conscousness . . .it's like drowning in a sea of consciousness---a sort
of meditative state."
Treby was raised in the small village of Bedordshire, and from that
experience learned to love the countryside and especially the wildlife
