|  Born in Santiago, Chile, Jorge Tacla studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes at the Universidad de Chile. He has received several grants
and has had solo exhibitions in both North and South America, as well as in Europe and Japan. He is also a visiting lecturer for the
Universidad de Chile, the Católica in Chile, the Hartwick College in Oneonta, the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and the State University
in Albany.
He has lived in New York since 1981.
