Karel Tondl (1893- 1959)
A Czech painter, he was Professor at the State Graphic Art School in Prague. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Preisler and Svabinsky. Later was influenced by Expressionism. He traveled and exhibited his work in France, Switzerland. the US and other countries. He painted landscapes, portraits and figures. Best known is his series of female bathers. Created gouaches and monotypes as well as oil paintings.
