Born in San Francisco, CA on Aug. 6, 1870, Kate Chandler Thomson (Thompson) was the daughter of Lucius Thomson who was a partner of George C. Shreve, a jeweler. She studied art locally during the 1880s and established a studio in San Francisco at 932 Sutter Street. She was active in the art scene in both San Francisco and San Diego until 1914.
Just before the outbreak of WWI she moved to a studio in Paris. While there, she helped manage a bureau for reception of refugees (showing 500 of 1654 characters). |
