A painter and teacher, Kathryne Hail Travis was born in Ozark, AR on
Feb. 6, 1894. Hail studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago
Academy of Fine Arts, Cincinnati Art Academy, and with George Bellows
and Robert Henri.
After her marriage to artist Olin Travis in 1916, the couple founded
the Dallas Art Institute in 1925 and Summer School in the Ozarks.
A divorcée, in 1936 she moved to Hollywood, California where she lived
for ten years. She then maintained a st (showing 500 of 1019 characters). |
