Leon L Tadrick was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during War World II in the Pacific.

Tadrick studied at the Newark Industrial and Fine Arts College with renowned French impressionist Claude Dern, old master realist painter, Hans Weingaertner, and also Marc Wright a portrait painter in Maplewood, New Jersey and Vermont.

Tadrick worked for Arthur Lidov, an artist of illustration, sculpture and painting. Tadrick was influenced by his mentor and credits him with helping him develop his talent.

Leon Tadrick was employed by Sudler and Hennessey, Inc, a medical advertising company in New York City as an artist, illustrator and studio manager for 41 years. He retired in 1993.

During his career, Mr. Tadrick did freelance work for magazines including "The Saturday Evening Post", "Reader's Digest", "Science Digest", "Playboy", "OUI" as well as other technical journals.

Leon Tadrick continues to show his work in venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.

His awards include 14 "Best in Show", 28 blue ribbons as well as numerous merit awards. He was awarded the Grumbacher Gold Medal, the Rottler Award, the Windsor-Newton Gold Medal, The Leob Award from the Salmagundi Club and the Founder's Award from the Water Color Society of New Jersey.

He is a member of the Water Color Society of New Jersey, and the Philadelphia Sketch Club.

Tadrick's work has been exhibited at the Woodmere Museum, the Reading Museum, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the York Art Association, Barc Barn at Tinicum, PA and Lebanon Valley College.
